Safe viewing, step by step
- Use eclipse glasses marked ISO 12312-2 from a trustworthy supplier.
- Inspect them for scratches, tears or damage before use.
- Ordinary sunglasses are never sufficient.
- Fit a proper solar filter to the front of cameras, telescopes and binoculars.
Remove eye protection only during totality, when the bright face of the Sun is completely covered. Put it back on immediately when any bright sunlight returns.
